Performances start at 7:30 p.m. Seating starts at 7 p.m. Matinees (M) start at 2 p.m.

Season tickets ($60) are now available for ACT’s 2019-20 season. These can be purchased online, at the box office, calling 1-877-730-3144 (toll-free), or download and print the 2019-20 season ticket brochure and mail in your form. Season ticket holders are provided the first opportunity to purchase seats to all ACT performances.

For non-season ticket holders, individual show tickets will be available on Sept. 1, 2019. You can call the box office at 507-377-4371, or you may visit the box office at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center to purchase tickets.

You’ll laugh until your side dish hurts with the hilarious antics and down-to-earth charm! The year is 1969, and the world is a changing. As folks protest the Vietnam War and women are demanding equal pay for equal work, in their small rural Minnesota community, the ladies of the Lutheran church basement kitchen are dealing with changes of their own. The show takes you from serving the high school students at the Luther League banquet to a church-sponsored Missionary Night and the rise and fall of a Vikings’ Super Bowl Sunday. From the elderly matriarch of the kitchen to the young mom-to-be, these women find strength in each other as they deal with the joys and upheavals from below the “House of God.”

Through the eyes of a strong-willed woman comes the remarkable true story of Irena Gut Opdyke and the triumphs of the human spirit over devastating tragedy. Irena is a 19-year-old housekeeper in the home of a Nazi officer when she finds out that the Jewish ghetto is about to be liquidated. Determined to help 12 Jewish workers, she decides to shelter them in the safest  place she can think of: the basement of the German commandant’s house. Over the next two years, Irena uses her wit and courage to hide her friends until the end of the German occupation, concealing them in the midst of countless Nazi parties, a blackmail scheme and even the birth of a child.

So grab your Stetson and come on over to Doublewide, Texas, where life is double the fun, double the joy, and the audiences double over with laughter!
